QHSE Specialist (30-38 Hours per Week)

Quality, Food Safety and Continuous Improvement

Would you like to contribute to quality, food safety, health, safety and sustainability within a modern industrial bakery? Do you have an eye for detail, experience with quality management systems and a passion for improving processes? Then we would like to hear from you.

The Role: Specialist and Connector in Quality and Compliance

As a QHSE Specialist at Bakkerij Braas, you are responsible for supporting, improving and safeguarding our quality, food safety, health, safety and environmental management systems. You translate legislation, certification requirements and company objectives into practical procedures, work instructions and improvement initiatives.

You serve as an important link between the Quality department and operational teams. In this role, you support colleagues on the shop floor, coordinate audits and contribute to the ongoing professionalisation of our quality systems and business processes.

Your focus is on compliance, continuous improvement, risk management and strengthening quality and food safety awareness throughout the organisation.

What Will You Do?

  • Translate legislation, customer requirements and certification standards into procedures, work instructions and quality guidelines.

  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System.

  • Manage quality manuals, procedures, records and documentation.

  • Prepare, perform and coordinate internal and external audits.

  • Support certification programmes and maintain existing certifications.

  • Register, analyse and follow up on deviations, complaints and corrective actions.

  • Advise management and operational departments on quality, food safety, health, safety, environmental and sustainability topics.

  • Support and lead improvement and implementation projects.

  • Support the HACCP team and contribute to the further development of the food safety system.

  • Conduct shop-floor verifications and compliance checks.

  • Provide training, instruction and awareness programmes related to quality, food safety and compliance.

  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to organisational development.

Job requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • HBO working and thinking level (Bachelor's degree level).

  • A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Quality Management, Safety Management or a related field.

  • Experience within a quality, food safety or compliance role in the food industry.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of quality systems and relevant legislation.

  • Experience with IFS Food, HACCP and audit processes.

  • Knowledge of certifications such as RSPO, GMP+ or similar standards is preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Independent, accurate and results-oriented.

  • Good command of both Dutch and English.
