Team Leader Production & Packaging (30-38 Hours per Week)

Leadership, Safety and Team Development

The Role: Connecting Operations and Leadership

As a Team Leader Production & Packaging at Bakkerij Braas, you will be responsible for the daily leadership of a team of operators, production employees and packaging employees. You will ensure the safe, efficient and high-quality execution of production and packaging activities within your department.

You are highly visible on the shop floor, monitor operational performance and create the conditions for your team to perform at its best. In this role, you act as the link between the workforce, fellow team leaders and management.

Your focus is on creating a safe working environment, developing employees and continuously improving processes and working methods. You will drive quality, productivity, teamwork and accountability throughout the department.

What Will You Do?

  • Lead, support and motivate your team on a daily basis.

  • Monitor safety, quality, productivity and operational performance within the department.

  • Coordinate and execute daily production and workforce planning.

  • Ensure optimal staffing levels within the department.

  • Train, coach and develop both new and existing employees.

  • Conduct performance reviews, development discussions and absence management conversations.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and actively contribute to process improvements.

  • Record and report production data, deviations and operational issues.

  • Monitor the availability of raw materials, packaging materials and production resources.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, IFS, quality, safety and company procedures.

  • Lead team meetings and contribute to a positive and professional team culture.

  • Ensure effective shift handovers and communication between departments.

  • Work closely with colleagues from Production, Packaging, Technical Services, Quality Assurance and Production Planning to ensure smooth daily operations.

Job requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • MBO+ (higher vocational secondary education) or HBO (Bachelor's degree) working and thinking level.

  • Experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager within a production environment.

  • Experience within the food industry is preferred.

  • Experience with workforce planning and leading larger teams.

  • Experience with absence management and employee development discussions.

  • Affinity with process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • You are a visible and coaching leader who can motivate, develop and challenge employees to achieve results.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.

  • Decisive, resilient and capable of setting priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Good command of the Dutch language.

  • Strong awareness of safety, quality and food safety standards.

  • Willingness to work in a shift-based operation.
