The Role: The Operational Point of Contact During the Night

As a Transport Team Leader Night Shift at Bakkerij Braas, you are responsible for the operational coordination of our overnight transport activities. While thousands of bakery products are being delivered to supermarkets and distribution centres, you serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, transport partners and internal departments.

You monitor operational performance, respond quickly to disruptions and ensure that issues are resolved efficiently. Whether it involves delays, vehicle breakdowns, staffing challenges or last-minute changes, you maintain control and keep the operation running smoothly.

Your focus is on continuity, safety, customer service and supporting drivers and transport partners throughout the night.

What Will You Do?

• Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, transport partners and internal departments during the night shift.

• Monitor the progress of transport operations and deliveries.

• Coordinate and resolve operational disruptions, incidents and emergencies.

• Communicate with drivers, planners, customers and external transport providers.

• Support drivers with questions regarding routes, deliveries, documentation and procedures.

• Monitor compliance with driving hours regulations, safety standards and company procedures.

• Identify operational bottlenecks and contribute improvement ideas.

• Ensure an effective handover to the daytime transport organisation.

• Record and report incidents, deviations and operational issues.

• Collaborate with colleagues from Transport, Production, Packaging, Planning and Logistics to ensure smooth operations.

What We Are Looking For

• MBO+ working and thinking level.

• Experience as a Team Leader, Coordinator or Planner within transport, logistics or distribution.

• Experience supporting and managing drivers is preferred.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• Quick decision-making and a proactive attitude.

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

• Good command of the Dutch language.

• Basic knowledge of driving hours regulations is preferred.

• Willingness to work permanently in a night-shift operation.

• Availability between 22:00 and 06:00.
